Hi, I’m Lauren.
If you are here, chances are you’re about to embark on one of life’s greatest adventures and looking for a doula, whether that’s for birth or postpartum — welcome and CONGRATULATIONS!
From the time I was little, I was drawn to all things birth and motherhood. I knew I wanted to support women in some capacity and becoming a doula helped to meld these two passions together.
I trained and certified as a birth doula with DONA Int., back in 2015, and five years later decided to dive into the meaningful work as a postpartum doula. However, after becoming a mother myself, I realized that I still had a lot of learning and unlearning to do, when it comes to the work I do in this field. I realized that no certifying agency can give doula’s all the tools they need in order to support mothers on this transcendental journey — sure it’ll teach you how to do a “double hip squeeze” and how to interpret the medical jargon you might hear in a hospital setting, but it cannot ever teach you how to actually hold space for your clients. And that is what I do.
My Approach
This work is sacred and I do not take it lightly. As a traditional doula I offer each client warm, compassionate and loving care, while also giving you the tools you need to achieve your desired birth outcome. I will also be there to help strengthen the bond between you this new soul you have been entrusted with. My ultimate goal is to empower new mothers (and families) not just in body, but more importantly in mind and spirit as you become your child’s guide and their home. I will be there to help nurture and support you throughout your pregnancy, birth and as you recover. I will provide education where needed and offer a listening ear as you process this monumental transformation known as motherhood.
